Uniform

Auburn Girls High School has a school uniform that was decided by the Parent and Citizen Association and the school community of AGHS. All students are required to wear the Auburn Girls High School uniform. This requirement sets a clear standard of professionalism and respectful presentation, an image that is projected to our community and reflects our values of pride, respect and belonging.

Types of uniform

We offer two smart uniforms which students are required to wear daily:

Both uniforms are designed for comfort, safety and daily wear.

We expect students to wear their uniform neatly and respectfully each day. This includes keeping uniform items clean, washing them regularly, and ensuring layers are concealed and worn under the uniform rathan than over it.

Sports Uniform

Students have a separate sports uniform that can only be worn on days they have timetabled practical sport or PE classes; students are required to:

  1. Arrive to school in full normal school uniform, and
  2. Change into their sport uniform during their PE/Sport lessons, then
  3. Change back into school uniform afterwards.

This ensures students remain clean, comfortable and appropriately dressed for learning throughout the day. It also supports good hygiene, as students are not sitting in sweaty clothing during later classes.

Jewellery

Students must wear minimal jewellery. A watch, small earrings (small sleepers or studs), plain necklace and a plain ring. This restriction is imposed for safety reasons. Large hoops or dangling earrings pose a hazard during movement, practical lessons or during sport and are therefore unsuitable for school.
