High potential and gifted education

Auburn Girls High School is a partially selective high school that supports students with high potential through our High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) programs. We offer Selective and Enrichment classes in years 7-10. Year 11 and 12 HPGE students access a range of HSC courses and extension programs that challenge and extend their learning.

Accelerated learning pathways in Science and Maths are available to selected HPGE students who have demonstrated consistent depth and sophisticated understanding of courses well above their cohort’s level. These programs match students to their demonstrated abilities and offer opportunities to build on their strengths.

Our staff are committed to recognising and developing the talents of every student across academic, creative, social-emotional, and physical domains. Teachers use evidence-informed strategies including enrichment, extension and acceleration programs to stretch student thinking, build confidence and strengthen learning habits. All permanent staff engage specialised training through

Our school’s HPGE Professional Committee works collaboratively with staff to ensure systems, processes and programs are current, inclusive and effective.
