How to enrol
If you live in our intake area and would like to apply to enrol at our school, start by submitting an online enrolment application. Online enrolment is currently only available for Australian or New Zealand citizens and permanent residents.
If you are not able to apply online or you prefer not to, download the paper application to enrol (PDF 768.4KB) form. Please complete the form in English. A translated application to enrol may help you do this.
Online enrolment can also be used for out-of-area enrolment. Please note that out-of-area enrolment procedures are subject to the department’s enrolment policy.

How to enrol - Year 6 into Year 7
In NSW government schools, applying to move from primary school to high school is a 2-step process that starts with an Expression of Interest. Visit the moving to high school page to learn more about the process.
- If you have received an offer from our school for placement into Year 7 next year, the next step is to visit online enrolment to proceed with the offer and complete the enrolment application.
- If you did not submit an expression of interest or are not eligible, visit online enrolment to start a new application to our school.
- If you submitted your expression of interest using a paper form, or would prefer not to enrol online, use the application to enrol (PDF 768.4KB) form.

Distance education
Distance education is an equity program for students who are geographically isolated or whose individual circumstances prevent them from regularly attending school. Students must meet one of the conditions in the Distance Education Enrolment Procedures to be eligible to access this program as a full-time student.

Selective class placement in year 7
Selective class placement in Year 7 is based on the N.S.W. Department of Education’s Selective Class Placement Test. Detailed information regarding an application and the test date can be found on the Department’s website. The test is for students who are in their last year of primary school (Year 6).
Selective class placement in years 8, 9 and 10
Placement in the Years 8, 9, and 10 Selective Class is dependent on vacancies existing in these classes. To enrol in the Selective class in Years 8, 9 and 10 applications are made in the previous calendar year via a school based application process. The school must receive a completed application form (available from the N.S.W. Department of Education website) on a set date in June. This date is announced on the Departments’ website each year. In addition to this application two recent academic reports, the latest NAPLAN results (if available) and any other documentation indicating a students’ engagement with learning and participation in other educational activities. The application and documentation is reviewed by The School’s Enrolment Committee and parents are informed by letter of the outcome of the application in September. Dates regarding the availability of current application forms, submission deadlines and notification of determinations are published annually on The Departments’ website.
Enrichment class placement in year 7
The school holds a Year 7 Enrichment Class Placement test approximately one week before the Selective Class Placement Test in Term One.
The test is open to students in Year 6 and successful students are informed by letter mid-year. The test which students sit for is prepared and marked by UNSW Global.
Enrichment class placement in years 8, 9 and 10
Placement in the Enrichment Class in Years 8, 9 and 10 is dependent on vacancies existing in these classes. Students currently at the school may be offered a placement depending on outstanding academic achievement from the previous year. Students not currently at the school maybe offered a placement upon enrolment based on evidence of outstanding academic achievement.

Enrolment policy
Enrolment at Auburn Girls High School is available to students who reside in the placement catchment for the school (set by the Department of Education).
Evidence of place of residence is required at an enrolment interview. The school issues a list of documentation required for presentation as evidence of residence. For students who do not reside in the placement catchment enrolment is dependent upon available vacancies at the school and documentation of previous schooling. Students may be placed on a waiting list if an initial application is unsuccessful Students seeking enrolment (other than Year 7 students starting for the first time from primary school) will require an enrolment interview. At the enrolment interview the student must be accompanied by a parent or carer and bring documentation establishing identity and a record of educational achievement.
